27 years ago, the World Wide Web was invented by a British scientist and just a few years later, I began my career in Internet development. 14 of these extraordinary years, were spent with Dreamworks Animation. I started out in the trenches (of design and coding) and scaled the hierarchy walls into management, first as head of design, then head of production. While we functioned as a collaborative team (much like IMAGE: Global Vision) the design aspects were delegated out and I felt (more and more) removed from the process. Wanting to stay in design, I ventured out on my own to start a Web Strategy and Design company.

A few years ago, Regina began hiring my company for her projects. Initially my role was executional.  That is to say that, IMAGE: Global Vision provided the design and look, then I would create the platform per Regina’s specifications.

More recently however, Regina has involved me from the start, attending some of the preliminary concept and objective meetings along with the rest of her team. Because this has become an app-oriented world, if the client wants to reach their audience, we need to develop a marketing strategy that will find and excite them. My work with Regina doesn’t begin and end at implementing a web site any more, rather we’re creating an actual product for the client.

Regina Rubino sets the direction and tone in the meetings, infusing the collective mindset with the Brand Strategy. She runs a collaborative studio and the entire team is involved from the beginning. We are all coming at the same problem from different angles, and Regina is able to build upon our vast and varied skill sets to bring the market strategy and the product visibility to a higher level. Our action items vary, dependent upon our individual disciplines, focus and strengths. There’s a tremendous amount of information to take and factor in; it’s up to each one of us to boil it down to our specialties. Regina’s studio will ultimately create the strategy document, and my team determines how the strategy can be implemented in the digital world.

Each team member begins to research, each of us, from our own perspectives. We’re all looking at the same business and industry, from the inside and out and from different perspectives. We spend quite a bit of time on research phases, especially with the larger projects.
