The whole is greater than the sum of its parts

Every project has a carefully curated team where each person is superlatively talented, creative and genuinely interested in each other’s perspectives. In this approach of give and take, sharing is expected, it’s not an incidental part of the culture. A process where the perspective of the entire team is relied upon for the multifaceted strategy. There is always a bit of deadline dread (anticipation coupled with stress) but we’re all engaged in the outcome, so it’s exciting and invigorating to be a part of the holistic conversation. Preparation is imperative. Thankfully, we incorporate the luxury of time to research.

We give, but in listening to each other, we get to take too. It’s a gift, to hear how each team member comes up with things. Everybody brings an imperative piece to the table and presents at every meeting.

These consensus-building meetings are a culmination of a lot of hours sitting down just talking, email communications, conference calls, and file sharing. Even in moments when we might have opposing thoughts, everyone self-mediates. We each understand that our contributions are interconnected to the final outcome, and thus while we are working independently, we move forward as one.
