Robert Louey is truly a genius. Regina Rubino is an amazing, smart, savvy person. She's just so gifted. She has a knack for doing good business. Their work is world class and first class. And it was all apparent early on. From day one we all hit it off really well. We've truly been friends for 20 years.
Lithographix is a great printer. Robert and Regina are great designers. You really do need both parts to make great things happen. If, for example, you don't have great design, you don't look at it as closely because there is only so much that can be done with mediocre designs. But when we get a Louey/Rubino design we know we can make it amazing.
You have to see the breadth of their work to really understand what I'm talking about. What they do is just so beautiful. Having the ability to do great design is almost a god-given gift. You can't put your finger on why it is so great. Robert and Regina were born with a sense of it, but they've spent years going to school, learning, traveling and working in the industry to make the best of their gift.
A lot of designers design only for themselves. They make pretty pictures. But that's not good enough for Robert and Regina. They're always thinking about the client and the communication that is so critical when delivering a brand's message. And they really know how to deliver a message beautifully.
In recent years we've collaborated on The Beverly Hills Hotel, Hyatt, Hotel Bel-Air and Kaufman & Broad projects. They designed a series of pieces that are just spectacular. They're really smart. They really understand their client's needs. We're friends forever.
