“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” ~ Michelangelo

In this season of spring and renewal, my thoughts turn to all things created and how every facet of life blossoms at this time of year. As it applies to our studio, our ideas spring forth initially from seeds of thought, and with the help of many elements, grow into metaphors for inspiration, excitement and a life well lived.

From concept to completion, our processes and elements are rather consistent, however each project has it’s own soul. We strive (as a team) to release what is already destined to be. A perfect melange of inspiration, beauty and purpose. It begins with the client’s vision and intentions, then we build on that through research, trends, consumer drivers, economics, market psychology, our personal experiences, insights and intuition.

We focus on the client’s customer experience from first light, thru satisfied customer or specific goals met, what will encourage returns and the kind of positive feedback that cultivates long term relationships and nurtures loyalty. To do this, we employ a number of disciplines and perspectives, leveraging research and imagery, conjuring up sensations of taste and touch with words and texture. Every aspect of the strategy and how it will be received is given great consideration… and then we live with it, turn it around to view at different angles and perspectives, and give it another think, chipping away at anything that might fetter or impose upon our message and the sheer delight we endeavor to deliver.

An essential element is experience. Most of our team members are well traveled, and hail from vastly different cultures and backgrounds. Each of them brings their individual flavor and tempo to the concept, culminating in a truly unique point of view that can’t be duplicated by prototypical studio templates that latch onto the current fads in concept/categories/style/typography/layout/design. This takes a great deal of time and effort, immersion in the different industries and businesses, customers and products, cities and cultures. It is why we have chosen to keep our studio small by design. So that we can each actually work on every project on a daily basis and give it the care and attention it needs to be successful.

In this series of upcoming blogs, our team members will discuss our collaborative processes and articulate their role in creating our concepts and presentations.
