There’s nothing more elegant or elusive than the notion of time. In the studio, we create in the three dimensional realm of space and form, yet everything we do is propelled through the fourth dimension of time. “Time provides another coordinate — direction.” Einstein's theory of special relativity provides that time slows down or speeds up depending on how fast you move relative to something else.
For me, working around the clock doesn’t always mean 24/7. Sometimes it’s a 25 hour travel time door to door, arriving two days later. Or a happy "Good morning" when it is our end of day. Our clients are sited on several continents, spanning multiple time zones. Still, our collaborations need to be real time. Beijing’s Monday 9am-5pm, translates to Sunday 6pm-2am in California. The studio is often buzzing late into the evening and I can be found answering emails at 3am (PST).
Meanwhile, London’s 9 to 5 is Los Angeles’s 1am to 9am (same day) so a call early our morning works best.
We’re diligent and respectful about scheduling calls, meetings, and programs with the overlap in mind.
So good morning to you. Or good night...
