Andaz literally means personal style. New York City has enjoyed a long history of exemplifying the art of personal style. Located in the center of Manhattan directly across from the lions of the NYC Public Library, Andaz 5th Avenue takes inspiration from the timeless roots and deep traditions literature, fashion, culture and the arts. Introducing the hotel with a mural/building wrap which simply asks "What is your Andaz?", the canvas displays the sentiments from New Yorkers on what inspires them most about their beloved city. Some funny, some witty, some cheeky and profound, it is a montage of heartfelt inspirations from those who live, breathe and give New the heartbeat of it's most unique culture. The collection of thoughts, quotes and fragments are an insightful look into the magic of New York and those exceptional things which bring a wink and a smile to New Yorkers hearts. The design was inspired by the fine typography from the golden age of publishing, mirroring the spines and pages from fine edition book. Anchored by a major piece of hand crafted calligraphy from master scribe and illustrator Si Scott, the 3-STORY TALL question bids all to wonder...what is their very own personal style.Very fitting, since the heart of hospitality is at its very best...personal.
