"A successful life is one that is lived through understanding and pursuing one's own path, not chasing after the dreams of others." —Chin-Ning Chu

This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Louey/Rubino Design Group. Together Robert and I have built an international reputation by blending emotionally stunning imagery with powerful language. We have circled the globe many times and explored beyond the boudaries of natural talent to create brands for our international clients that are vibrant and enduring.

But the truth is, we worked together for 10 years before we dared open our own studio. We met as students at The High School of Art & Design, and while still at school began to collaborate on freelance projects. We took jobs with various leading design firms in New York City to expand our knowledge and hone our skills. Finally, as our designs and ambitions grew bolder, we founded a studio of our own. A place where we could express standards and philosophies that are deeply personal yet accessible and effective in the global market place.

Through the years we have learned to communicate a thousand things without talking, which a Chinese proverb says is an indication of long-lasting love and respect. And we have discovered that love means sharing a vision. Or, as French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery has written, "...looking together in the same direction."

Although we officially began as partners under the Louey/Rubino Design Group moniker, we didn't stop there. Over the course of a decade spent in Asia, I expanded the scope of our design portfolio by conceptualizing, creating and opening a bar and a lounge in Hong Kong. I also engaged in other new entrepreneurial endeavors that deepened my ties to the business community. These activities and discoveries inspired my own brand, IMAGE: Global Vision, and Robert's enterprise, Robert Louey Design/Pagenova. These new ventures allow us to continue collaborating while also consulting under our own names.

You might ask, what's in a name?

Commitment to excellence. Pride in our designs and beliefs. Determination to continue loving what we do so that, as the Japanese say, we may walk a thousand meters as if it were only one.
