When we started out years ago in New York City, we thought we would have a tidy little neighbourhood design firm and occasionally look for a client in California so we could journey out in the winter to enjoy a respite from the icy teeth of the northeast winters. Twenty five years later we find ourselves with offices in Santa Monica, New York and Hong Kong, after some time spent in Jakarta. We log well over a hundred thousand miles a year working with clients on five continents, with a myriad of diverse cultures and industries.
During the passing years we have learned that true art and beauty know not time, border or boundary. Those things that delight the heart, intrigue the mind and cause one to take pause but for a second to query their curiosity are as infinitely important to the well being of our souls as they were centuries ago.
Design is the world’s most excellent diplomat, asking little but our unconditional passion and devoted attention. Design rises well above the limitations of language and learning, for when done well, it speaks more purely to our hearts than our eyes. Steven Covey said, “We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.” One could not describe the life of a designer in any better terms. I suppose we are lucky that way.
Begun as Louey/Rubino Design Group, the firm has built an international reputation and client base of leading brands in a wide range of industries by passionately embracing the ideal of the art of business. Simple communications based on clear intelligent messages married to emotionally stunning imagery heralds our studio’s philosophy.
